On our city tour, among the places to be seen are the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral (Duomo), one of Florence’s masterpieces combining Gothic and Renaissance architecture, and the Baptistery with its impressive exterior, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Signoria Square, considered the political center of the city, and Palazzo Vecchio (Palace of the Signoria) in the square, the statue-filled Loggia dei Lanzi, Uffizi Square, home to world-famous collections, Ponte Vecchio Bridge, which stands out with its historic and elegant structure over the Arno River, Piazza della Repubblica, which combines the city’s modern and historical texture, and San Lorenzo Market, known for its local products.
