Day 1 – Istanbul – Catania
We meet at Istanbul New Airport 4 hours before departure and, after completing our check-in procedures, we take our flight to Catania (CAT). Upon landing, we transfer to our hotel by private vehicle.
Day 2 – Messina | Savoca & Taormina & Messina Tour | MSC World Europa Boarding
After the breakfast we will have at our hotel, we will head to the port to complete our check-in procedures for MSC World Europa. After boarding the ship, we settle into our cabins and enjoy this magnificent vessel. Guests who wish may join the Savoca & Taormina & Messina tour, organized as an extra by the guide. During the tour, we will see the places where the world-famous film The Godfather was shot. Taormina, one of the most beautiful tourist resorts in Sicily, is another lovely area we will see during our tour. Later, we will head to Messina, described as the “Gateway to Sicily.” Founded in Ancient Greek times, this beautiful city is considered the spiritual capital of Sicily with its historical past. After an enjoyable visit in Messina, one of the region’s most modern and lively cities, we return to our ship. Dinner and accommodation on board.
Day 3 – La Valletta | Mdina & Valletta & Mosta
After the breakfast we will have on board, guests who wish may join our Mosta & Valletta & Mdina & Marsaxlokk tour, organized as an extra by the ship. Our first stop is Mosta. On this tour, we visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, which has the third-largest dome in Europe. The interior paintings of this massive basilica, whose dome has an outer diameter of 56.2 meters, were made especially by painter Giuseppe Cali. We will see a replica of the 200 kg bomb dropped by German Nazi aircraft during World War II in 1942, which pierced the dome and became lodged in the church floor without exploding, and learn about the church’s interior and exterior architecture. Then we visit Mdina, the former capital of Malta and a natural set where many scenes of the famous series Game of Thrones were filmed. While walking through the narrow streets of this medieval city known as the Silent City, we will see the magnificent Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Falson Manor built by the Falson family, one of Malta’s noble families dating back to the 13th century, the Carmelite Monastery built in Baroque style in the 17th century, Vilhena Palace, and the old houses of Mdina. Afterwards, we continue our tour by visiting the fishing village called Marsaxlokk. You should not miss the view of the small, charming fishing boats called luzzu, which feature colors and designs unique to Malta. At the same time, in this charming fishing village where an open market is set up, we will have free time so that guests who wish can have lunch at local restaurants offering menus made up of fresh fish and seafood. After our free time, we will head to Valletta. We will then carry out our Valletta city tour. Valetta was chosen as the 2018 European Capital of Culture by the Council of the European Union. During our tour, we will have the opportunity to see the magnificent walled city of Valetta from the outside. After the bus tour, we will explore the city by walking through the lively streets of the capital, Valletta, with our guide. Our first stop will be the Barracca Gardens, built on the upper section of the defensive walls surrounding this magnificent city. Built by the Knights of St. John, these gardens also offer a magnificent view of the Grand Harbour and the three walled old cities. At the end of our tour, we return to our ship. Day 4 – Cruising at Sea
We will spend the entire day cruising at sea. A perfect opportunity to enjoy this magnificent ship. You can have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner either at the buffet restaurant, which offers a variety of freshly prepared dishes by expert chefs to suit every palate, or at your reserved seat in the A La Carte restaurant. During the day, in addition to yoga and fitness classes, you can use the open-air tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts or the state-of-the-art Technogym-equipped gym, which also includes bodybuilding equipment. After dinner, if you wish, you can spend time in the guide’s colorful and entertaining bars and cafes and listen to live music, attend Broadway-style musical theater shows, or try your luck in the casino. Dinner and accommodation on board.
Day 5 – Barcelona | Barcelona City Tour
After breakfast, guests who wish may join the Barcelona city tour organized as an extra by our guide. Our city tour in Barcelona, one of Europe’s most beautiful metropolises, will begin with our private bus waiting for us at the port. La Rambla Avenue, the Christopher Columbus Monument, the Maremagnum artificial harbor, Barceloneta Beach, the Olympic district and harbor, Catalunya Square, Paseo de Gracia Avenue, where Gaudi turned the houses into a street museum, and his most iconic work, Sagrada Familia, are among the places we will see. During the tour, we will go up Montjuic hill and take scenic photos. After free time on La Rambla for shopping, we will return to our ship. Dinner and accommodation on board.
Day 6 – Marseille | Aix-En Provence & Marseille City Tour
After the breakfast we will have on our ship, guests who wish may join the Aix-En Provence & Marseille Tour organized as an extra by the ship. We start our tour with a 10-minute walk from Marseille port. After approximately 40 minutes of travel by bus, we will go to AIX-EN PROVENCE, one of the most elegant cities in Southern France and a source of inspiration for many writers such as Paul Cezzanne and Emile Zola. In this region famous for lavender fields, we will tour a city full of beautiful buildings, flower-filled balconies, fountains that are each a work of art, and streets steeped in history. After Aix En Province, we return to Marseille and begin our city tour here. During the tour, we pass through the old port and visit one of the city’s most popular historical sites, the Notre Dame De La Garde Church, located on a high hill. Palais Longchamp is the second stop on our tour. During our visit to this building, which serves as the Museum of Fine Arts, we visit its gardens and fountains from the outside and take a photo break. At the end of our tour, we return to our ship. Dinner and accommodation on board.
Day 7 – Genoa – Milan - Istanbul | Outlet Tour
After the breakfast we will have on board, our transfer to Milan (MXP) Airport will take place. Guests who wish may join the Outlet tour organized as an extra by our guide.
